“Of Roots and Radiance” Mural (2025) by Julia Prajza & Chrissy Kuiack

About the Art
This dynamic mural design celebrates the diversity of Oakwood Village through regional plants, flowers, and birds representing the rich cultures and heritage of people who live here. Coral tree flowers and saffron live harmoniously with fruits such as pomegranate, grapes, and cherimoya. The Eurasian Hoopoe and Green-headed Tanager birds bring excitement to the design with their bold colours and beautiful patterns. These nature elements weave together unifying them as one, symbolizing connection and community. The artists invite the locals and visitors to pause and take pride in the unique blend of cultural roots represented here.
